Arriving kilimanjaro airport from zanzibar

Upon reaching Kilimanjaro International Airport, a representative will welcome you and arrange your road transfer through Arusha Town to Legendary Lodge.Located at the foot of Mount Meru, near the lively town of Arusha, Legendary Lodge is the gateway to Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit. Enclosed by a working coffee farm and flourishing tropical gardens, this tranquil hideaway offers a serene escape. Its elegant cottages provide a perfect retreat to relax and either prepare for or reflect on your safari experience.

Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred from Legendary Lodge to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. Following your Lake Manyara experience, you will continue your journey to The Highlands Camp. In Ngorongoro Crater, enjoy a game drive and explore the vast 300 km² floor with an expert guide. Lunch will be enjoyed under the trees, allowing you to maximize time in this remarkable landscape. The seven-seater vehicles are equipped with power outlets and a fridge to keep drinks cool.

The Olmoti climb follows a Maasai cattle trail through forests, grasslands, and rocky outcrops with great birdwatching. At the summit, enjoy a magnificent view of the crater below. During the Empakaai descent, walk with an NCA ranger to the soda lake, famous for pink flamingos. Because of the camp’s proximity, this is the only half-day excursion to Empakaai Crater. In the afternoon, visit a Maasai village to learn about their traditional way of life. School visits may also be possible, depending on the season.

Serengeti national park

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Manyara Airstrip for your private flight to Seronera Airstrip in the Serengeti. A guide from Namiri Plains Camp will meet you and drive you to the lodge in a game vehicle. Enjoy two daily game drives with expert guides to see big cats and massive wildebeest herds across the plains. The open-sided vehicles have power outlets for charging and fridges to keep drinks cool. Walking safaris provide an intimate experience, allowing you to move at a slower pace and see wildlife up close.

These safaris must be booked in advance. The Serengeti Cheetah Project has been operating here since the 1970s. Meet a researcher near Namiri Plains to learn about the local cheetah population and share your sightings. Bookings are required, and there is an additional cost. Hot air balloon safaris offer a romantic and unique way to explore the Serengeti. Enjoy a 1-2 hour flight over the plains, followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush. Balloon safaris, available at an extra cost, take off from the nearby Seronera area.

Last Day of safari

You will return to Seronera Airstrip for your private charter flight to Kogatende Airstrip in northern Serengeti. A guide from Lamai Serengeti will meet you and transfer you to the Lamai Serengeti Lodge. Explore the Northern Serengeti with experienced guides, getting closer to large wildlife and covering more ground. Game drives are typically shared unless a private guide and vehicle are pre-booked, with a maximum of six people.

Walking safaris are available at Lamai during certain seasons. Tall grass may prevent walking, especially from January–March and June. Walking safaris let you experience the African bush through sight, smell, sound, and touch. While big game encounters are less common, you’ll appreciate the smaller wildlife that plays a vital role.

Your amazing adventure ends with a transfer to Kogatende Airstrip for your private charter flight home. We create personalized holidays, giving you the flexibility to choose your trip’s duration and destinations.
